Lost, Broken, and Disconnected - Kay's Story: Domestic Abuse Recovery

Jul 13, 2026

What "Kay" Shared with me recently...

After allowing my children’s father back in my life it started to seem my own life was starting to fall apart. Last year was very challenging filled with one major hardship after another, including dealing with an extremely toxic and abusive man. I found myself feeling lost, broken, and disconnected.

Earlier this year, I made the decision to focus on healing, including more fellowship and connection with God, and rebuild relationships with other God-centered women. I was also trying to remove myself from a very toxic and abusive situation. Through what I truly believe was God’s guidance, I found Oasis Online.

After my very first meeting and connecting with two other Bible studies that same week God revealed truths that had been hidden through years of deception, including the reality that my children’s father was actively using drugs. While painful, that revelation became part of God opening my eyes to the reality of my situation and beginning the process of healing.

Since then, I have found an incredible community of women who, despite having different stories, understand one another in profound ways. Oasis has become a place where I feel heard, seen, safe, and respected. Hearing the stories of women who are living in the same realities that I am alongside woman whom have found peace, healing, and joy on the other side of difficult circumstances has given me hope during a season when I desperately needed it.

I know this is a specialized ministry and not something many churches are equipped to offer. I sincerely want to thank you, along with all the women who lead and support these groups, for creating a space where women can find connection, understanding, and hope.

I found myself hoping that one day this ministry will continue to grow across the country and even around the world. The impact it has on women who feel alone, broken, and lost is truly profound.

While I still have difficult decisions and challenges ahead of me, having this community and the hope of a better future rooted in God has been life-changing. Thank you for everything you do.

With gratitude,

"Kay"
